At exit 94 on Interstate 65 you will find Elizabethtown Crossroads Campground. It is certainly easy to find and convenient to the Interstate. You will be about 40 miles south of Louisville, KY. The rates are reasonable; we paid $27 with a Good Sam discount.
From our experience that is pretty much the good news, except the people are friendly and most helpful. We telephoned several times before arriving and were provided with helpful information. There are 44 RV sites according to the map provided and most, if not all, are pull through. Unfortunately our site was not level and even a few leveling blocks failed to totally remedy that situation.
They advertise Wireless Internet and Cable TV. I was unable to obtain WiFi service at our site on either my notebook computer or IPOD. While they do have Cable TV, it is not what we generally think of when discussing Cable TV. There were a handful of local stations but few, if any, of the cable channels we are used to receiving. No Fox News or CNN or ESPN as examples. I was also unable to get my DISH to fully connect, though I do not hold the Campground responsible for that. There are many trees surrounding the park.
The Campground does have a large meeting room, clean showers, a pool and a catch and release pond in back. They also have a playground, volleyball court and a horseshoe pit. The owners reside on site.
If you need a place to spend the night I would not shy away from Elizabethtown, but you might want to shop around for longer stays if any of the issues above are important to you. If you just want a quiet, pleasant campground then Elizabethown is fine.
